The Easter Bärchen

Jakob's first Easter was a success. Unlike Good Friday (when I guess we're all supposed to be a little out of sorts) Jakob was co-operative during church. And we were invited to share Easter dinner with Jacquie and her family, a tradition begun when I first moved out here as a student. Other than a frightening diaper change (frightening for Werner and I, that is; others were unscathed, and I think unaware too. I hope unaware.), Jakob was cheerful and content, his usual charming, flirtatious self. We ate our meal as he sat on the floor in his Bumbo, peering up at us. He enjoyed cuddles from Sylvia and Sandy and did well until just after dessert, when he let us know it was his bedtime. We owe an apology for not being able to stay at help with the clean-up, having made hasty exit to get our tired baby home and into his crib. Sent home with ham and coloured eggs, we were set for a couple meals, too!
