The milk glut

For months, I've been carefully building up a stash of milk in the deep freeze. It has been reassuring to know that I've got litres of the stuff on hand in case I couldn't nurse Jakob for whatever reason. In fact, when I was sick over the holidays, Werner was able to feed Jakob milk that I'd previously stored, and I was able to rest up.

Now, though, I'm stumped on what to do with it. We'll soon be leaving for Germany, and this is something I definitely can't pack along. I'm not sure I can use it all up without incidentally cutting back my supply. And I'd like to build up a cache in Germany, so that's another reason I don't want to compromise my supply.

There is a milk bank at the hospital, and I know donating would be the "right" thing to do, but I have too much baggage about all that happened with Jakob and breastfeeding at that hospital.

Nevertheless, it is a nice problem to have.
