Success!!

This morning we had another visit with Dr Livingstone and have two lots of happy news to report:

1. Jakob is right on track with his weight gain.
2. He's nursing!! His jaw still needs to grow a bit more (still a bit of an overbite), but he has grown enough already to make breastfeeding feasible. At last!

Now I'm producing too much milk (do I have any space left in the freezer?), which is a bit of a surprise since a few days ago I was genuinely concerned that I wouldn't have enough. I'm to cut back on pumping (hooray!), nurse him when he's hungry, and pump to ensure there's enough for one feed in the fridge and to keep myself from becoming overly full. Although, Dr L did tell Werner that once in a while he might need to put me in the guest room, plug up my ears, and take over for a night so I can catch up on my rest - sounds good to me!

Maybe, after 22 days, there's a light at the end of this tunnel?
