The lesser of two evils

Having been persuaded by what had read in books and been told at our prenatal classes, we did not purchase bumpers for Jakob's crib. For the longest time, there didn't seem to be any need; afterall, he stayed where we put him. And besides, it seemed to me that they'd just make sheet changes more cumbersome.

Since our trip to Europe, Jakob has become much more squirmy. He wriggles in his crib and had started sticking limbs between the slats. Yesterday morning, he got himself well and truly trapped, having squeezed a leg through the slat and against the wall. That was the last straw.

Off to TJs we went. Mesh bumpers are now installed on his crib.
