Purple

This is embarassing to admit, but my very first thought when I woke up Monday morning was:

Yes, I was craving grape Kool-Aid. Honestly. I couldn't believe it. But before the day was out, Werner had to take me to the grocery store to get some. Of course, Safeway didn't have the kind that has the sugar already added, and had the must-add-your-own-sugar kind on sale at 8 packets for $2. So I stocked up. (If this is like any of my other cravings, it should pass quickly, though, and most of those packets will ossify in the pantry.)

There was one other item I just had to get:

Yup, Kellogg's Raisin Bran.

What a weird combination, thought I. One item that represented much of the worst of processed food, and another that is relatively healthy. Still a processed food, but not so bad overall.

When I told Maria about this, though, she offered a brilliant insight: Purple. Both are purple, at least to some extent (the raisins once were), and are packaged in purple to boot.

So that's it. I'm craving my favourite colour.
