Papa time

There is little more appealing than a man with a baby. I knew from the moment I met him that Werner was meant to be a father (damn those pheromones). Phoebe's arrival gave me definitive proof of this.

And now with Jakob, there is no doubt.

While we were still in the hospital, Werner proved himself a proud Papa. He cared for both Jakob and I as we recovered from birth. He encouraged me to sleep, and walked the room with Jakob so I could rest. When Jakob refused to nurse, Werner dropper-fed him. He spoke to him in German and cooed at him. He claimed diaper duty from the start and quickly learnt how to swaddle and dress Jakob. And, of course, he put his camera to work, capturing each new moment.

My instincts were correct. Werner was meant to be a father.

Isn't it wonderful?

Aaron was my saving grace when Joffre was born. He was tireless, cuddling him, dropper-feeding him, walking the floors, singing, changing diapers - and taking care of exhausted, rung-out me!
