This is where we live

Tuesday morning, the first morning Jakob woke up in our home, I was up early with him. Werner was sleeping and I wanted him to get lots of rest, so when Jakob stirred I gathered him up in my arms.

We walked through the house together.I took him to his own room (which was substantively ready for him, but not tidied up and without the decorative stencils I'd planned to do on the walls) and told him that the space would be his. As I took him into different rooms, I told him what they were for and how we used them.

Then we cuddled on the couch. It was a peaceful start to the day, and a sweet way to introduce him to his home.
