Going home

Around 4:00 pm, on the crisp, sunshiney afternoon of Sunday, October 1, Jakob took his first breath of outdoor air. It was astonishing to realise that, with every single step we took away from the hospital room, his world grew. Bundled into his carseat, the sunlight flickered on his face as we drove home.


Mom and Gord were waiting for us at home, Mom ready with her camera. We brought Jakob in through the front door and admired him as he happily slept in his carseat.


Welcome home, Bärchen.
