Speaking of futile efforts

I have been working on thank you cards for weeks. I could have, in theory, mailed them as I finished them, but since time is tight (spare moments are rare, and always surprising) I decided I'd mail them all at once to minimise my trips to the post office. I don't even know how many stamps I need, since the list of thank you cards owing continues to grow.

It has gotten to the point where I can't even get a card finished in one sitting. I'd been working on one card for about a week, a bit at a time, and thought I might finish it today. No, somehow, it got stained with food. I've torn it up, now have to start over.

I feel like I'll never be done.

So, if you're waiting for an acknowledgement, I promise that I am working on it. Slowly but surely.
