All for want of a plastic disk

On this trip, I brought along my trusty Medela breastpump, storage bottles, and one Dr Brown's bottle for feeding Jakob.

All this, and I forgot one essential item: a twoonie-sized plastic disk that keeps the bottle from leaking in transport. Because of this, I couldn't just pump and bring a bottle along with us for feeding on the go. Although the attitude towards breastfeeding seemed very positive, the logistics of nursing in public were daunting (finding a bench to sit on, for instance). It would have been terribly handy to have a bottle ready for those times, at least I could have fed Jakob in his stroller.

{sigh}

My packing list was, I thought, exhaustive. I missed one little item, and it turns out to have been vital. I'll have to modify the packing list for future trips, to make sure this doesn't happen again.
