More about our essential major appliances

So the electrician's apprentice came in on Thursday and fiddled with our dryer. The reason the set-up didn't work is because everyone is baffled by our Asko machines. The dryer plugs into the washer (or maybe it is the other way around? I don't remember), rather than each being plugged into their own wall outlet. The booster fan that was selected by the builder is supposed to operate with a sensor that senses when the dryer is in use because it is drawing power. Obviously, that's not going to work with our machines.

Werner knew this was going to be an issue. But did they listen to him? Noooo. The electrician tried various band-aid solutions, none of which worked, and installed a switch so we could at least operate the fan manually. (Not what we wanted, but was at least a temporary solution so I could wash and dry some baby clothes.) This is what we were left with, an industrial-looking laundry closet room:

Don'tcha just love the duct tape? And the protruding (unsecured) 220V outlet? And the wiring snaking up the wall?
