Stroller envy?
I like to sit in the front row, where I can keep the stroller with us. If Jakob is sleeping when we arrive, I can just leave him there until he wakes up hungry (as he invariably does). It gives me a place to store things, too, and the cupholder is more convenient (if I use the cupholder in the seat, there's a very strong chance Jakob will kick the cup while he's nursing). Only in the front row are strollers allowed, so that's where I sit.1
Today, during the movie (Happy Feet!), a toddler kept coming to Jakob's stroller. Now, because the front of the cinema was also the stroller parking area (I'm not making this up), there were literally dozens of strollers to attract his/her (not sure) attention. But, no, it was the Bug. Over and over again. I got a little anxious when the child started fidgeting with what seemed to me to be the brake cable... Eventually, its own mother dragged it away for good.
1 The time Mom joined me at Movies for Mommies (she qualified, too!), we actually sat at the back. On a previous visit, I saw a mom sitting in the wheelchair area, with her stroller at her side, so we decided to try that. Well, one of the co-ordinators told us we weren't allowed there, and that other person should have been shooed away, but she let us stay anyway. We ended up regretting that: the back of the cinema is the 'pacing area', where the moms with the especially noisy babies go to walk with them. We missed probably a third of the dialogue because of other peoples' babies screaming in our ears.
