Our little world traveller!

Jakob did so well on our travels! I'm both proud and relieved. Living so far away from our families, travel will be a necessary part of life for Jakob, and I'm glad that our first experience was so positive.

We had four flights, one ICE (high speed) train, and one S-Bahn (commuter) train, plus the long drives between Vienna airport and Krems. In all, Jakob cried only during the landing at YVR. (Maybe he shares my feelings about Vancouver?)

He flirted with the flight attendants, and anyone else who gave him a glance. He loved playing with his cousins and being held by his grandparents and aunt and uncle.

He didn't even notice the time difference. With so much to see and do for the first time, he was pretty excited when we arrived in Europe and settled into the time zone the very first day. Unfortunately for us, he somehow packed along his 5 am feeding.

And that wasn't all he packed along. He had a suitcase of his own, plus a good chunk of my suitcase was dedicated to his clothes and/or Jakob-related stuff (breast pump, breast pads...). We also had a small suitcase carry-on dedicated to Jakob. With his unpleasant tendancy to spit-up at every opportunity (and to make opportunities where none exist), we had to pack umpteen bibs, receiving blankets, and outfits in case the flying days were among his bad days. We also included spare clothes for us, too, because his spray radius is quite astounding.

And it was just in luggage that he out-did us - he also had as many passports as his parents had in total!
