The real reason new mothers lose hair

It has little to do with crashing pregnancy hormones, really, and everything to do with grabbing babies.

Geez. Jakob has pulled out several handfuls today alone.

Not to mention all the bruises and scratches he has given me. Just now, as I was getting him ready for bed, he kicked me in the mouth; my lip, which was nipped between his foot and my teeth, is still numb and swelling. He constantly kicks me while I'm changing him. He aims for my udders, which is remarkably painful. He never kicks his father during diaper changes, and while it has been months since anyone else has changed him, I'm guessing that this special treatment he's saving for his mother and her sore bits.

I need protective gear.
