Happy Thanksgiving
There's the obvious (Jakob) and the constant (food, shelter, love, comfort), but this afternoon I was especially grateful for helping hands. Mom and Gord are here, taking care of us and taking care of Jakob. They've cooked for us, cleaned for us, got groceries, cared for Phoebe, and generally kept our lives running when we couldn't.
This afternoon they gave us another special gift: rest. They took care of Jakob so Werner and I could lie down for a few hours. We slept. And then we took a bath and had a chance to reflect and share and have some quiet time together, a rare and fleeting experience these last ten days.
Hallelujah.
