If I'd had the time and energy, I'd have baked half a cake

Because today Jakob is a half year old!!

(How can that be?)

As it happened, today was the paediatric clinic, so we took him for his 6-month check-up (yah, right on schedule). He's doing well. The paediatrician upped his Zantac dose, because it is based on weight. For the last 3 months, we've been giving him 1 ml twice a day; now we're to give him - get this - 1.67 ml (seriously) per dose, twice daily.

So, the latest statistics on our Bärchen:

• weight = 8.09 kg (50th percentile)
• length = 71 cm (75th percentile)

Looks like we made the right call on the carseat. Had we gone for the other Graco model, we'd be shopping for a new one within the next couple of weeks, as he'd be outgrowing it by height.
