The kindness of friends

Babies, of course, have huge start-up costs. And many items they require they grow out of very quickly, hence lots of stuff is hardly used. As first-time parents, we've been a wee bit baffled by all of this.

Fortunately, we have friends who've led the way down the parenthood path. And we've received very generous offers, all of which have been appreciated. Aside from a carseat and an infant bathtub, we've twice (in as many days) been offered loan of a crib. A huge loaned supply of infant clothes awaits Bärchen's arrival.

We've already gone ahead and made plans for many items, and the eager grandparents-to-be want to give certain specific items, which means we've had to decline some of these very kind offers. Even so, we've been grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness.
